Support for Families Affected by Drug and Alcohol Misuse

ACES Training and Refresher Training Session at Hetty's

Posted on: May 12, 2026

Event Date: 5th May 2026

At Hetty’s, we are committed to ensuring that every family we support receives compassionate, informed and trauma-aware care. We are proud to celebrate that our dedicated team of staff and volunteers have recently completed Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) training, with new team members undertaking the course and existing staff completing refresher training.

Understanding ACE’s is incredibly important when supporting children, young people and families who may have experienced trauma, adversity or significant life challenges. The training helps our team recognise the lasting impact these experiences can have on emotional wellbeing, relationships and behaviour, while strengthening our ability to respond with empathy, understanding and appropriate support.

By continuing to invest in learning and development, Hetty’s ensures our services remain safe, supportive and person-centered. We would like to thank all of our staff and volunteers for their ongoing commitment to learning and for the passion they bring to supporting vulnerable families across our communities every day.
